LtAP mini LTE Kit US--Passthrough for PC remote desktop

Thu Mar 31, 2022 9:45 am

Hello All

This LTE modem has dual SIM (only one in use) and a single Ethernet port.

My goal here is to connect to a PC/IP device behind the LTE modem remotely via remote desktop or http.
So the diagram is like this: INTERNET >>> LTE MODEM >>> PC I want to remote desktop a PC from the internet, I know the public IP will change over time, this is not an issue.
So far I’m not able to perform such task.
I successfully setup the Modem to work with my SIM card, no issues here. Also the following tasks have been made:

>Remove bridge interface so eth1 is no longer slave, no management IP is allocated.
>This allows eth1 to be allocated as passthough interface in the LTE APN configuration.
>DHCP server has been disabled when the bridge interface was removed.
The passthrough might be working, my PC gets an IP address via DHCP from the LTE modem from a /30 network (random network), so the modem gets and IP for this network and my PC gets the other one. At this stage my PC has internet but the public IP is not assigned to the PC. The documentation is not clear about what will happen when the passthrough is enabled this is the reason I cant be sure that the passthrough function is working.

Why the public IP address is not directly assigned to my PC?
Why is such behavior? What I’m doing wrong?

I’m using OS 6.46.8 Board RB912R-2nD

Thanks in advance for your help!
