Mikrotik Captive Portal Only

Mon May 16, 2022 2:33 am

Hi,

I was looking to configure a mikrotik hEX to use only as captive portal, no dhcp nor firewall. Only a simple traffic catch allowing internet access using a captive portal, I won't to be invasive in the current network settings, only plug current network traffic at port1 and redirect to port2 if is ok the challenge in the captive portal.

Is this possible?

Describe what you want to accomplish in terms of User requirements and not what you want to do to the router (which should fall out of the user requirements naturally as a config).
In other words..
I have x groups of users
group 1 should be able to do this
group 2 should be able to do this
etc..

I have 5 individual users and each should be able to........
I have external users that need to reach my server A
I have internal and external users that need to reach my server B.

I need to be able to configure the router remotely.
I need to be able to get alerts when a user joins the router.........
etc...

In other words, an unknown set of requirement is pushing you to ask a hardware question, when that might be the wrong question or the wrong avenue of pursuit.................
