CAPsMAN - CAP connection timeouts with ROS 7.2.3

Mon May 30, 2022 7:08 am

After updating my HEXs from 7.1.1 to 7.2.3, my cAP's timeout connecting. Downgrading to 7.1.1 resolves the issue.

I have three cAP's (1 cAP XL ac and 2 cAP ac's) connected to a CSS106-1G-4P-1S. The CSS106 provides PoE to the cAP's.

The CSS106 is connected to a HEXs via a trunk port on sfp1 which is part of a bridge. I'm using vlan filtering on the HEX. The HEX is running CAPsMAN.
/interface bridge vlan
add bridge=bridge tagged=bridge
add bridge=bridge tagged=bridge,ether3,ether4,ether5,sfp1 vlan-ids=35
add bridge=bridge tagged=bridge,ether3,ether4,ether5,sfp1 vlan-ids=40
add bridge=bridge tagged=bridge,ether3,ether4,ether5,sfp1 vlan-ids=100
add bridge=bridge tagged=bridge,ether3,ether4,ether5,sfp1 vlan-ids=105
add bridge=bridge untagged=bridge,ether5 vlan-ids=254

The CSS106 has VLANs configured the following way:
* VLAN Tab
* VLANS Tab

The CAPs have all been upgraded to 7.2.3 and are working fine with the HEX is running 7.1.1. If the HEX is running 7.2.3, the CAPs timeout when attempting to connect.

Any advice would be appreciated.

CAPs are connected to Capsman by MAC or IP address?

I have another similar setup with a HEXs and a cAP ac connected directly. The HEX is running 7.2.3 and the cAP is running 6.48.4 and the cAP is connecting successfully. I'll update the cAP in this network to 7.2.3 in the next day or two to see what happens. Right now I think I must have some issue with how I have the CSS106 or the bridge on the HEXs configured in my other network.
