Splitter for 24v passive POE

Fri Jun 03, 2022 10:56 am

I have some equipment that use 24v dc together with ethernet. I also have some left over Mikrotik HEX lite devices that only support passive POE. Is there any way i can split the passive 24v POEoutput from the HEX lite and power my device with that? It only needs 5-10w.

I am aware that if the device supports at/af there are several splitters that can do the job, but given the current situation, it would be nice to be able to use what i have.

You can use the splitter that comes with passive PoE-powered devices, just wire it in reverse.
(connect the female side to the router with a cable, and the male side to the equipment, power comes out of the barrel plug)
