DHCP Leases

Mon May 23, 2022 4:17 pm

Hello

Leases time 01:00:00 defined as.

When the user leaves the network and comes back during the rental period, he gets a different ip.

What is the reason for this?

Probably the user terminating the lease when they leave? And/or declining the lease when they re-apply.
When you want users to have a static IP, you need to make the lease static.

You may use MAC cookie feature to avoid this: https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:H ... MAC_Cookie

Maybe the users change MAC address? Some devices do that to "hide them from tracking".

Is the new default on devices, change client MAC for each AP MAC.
And must re-authenticate everytime.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It is the client's choice not to be tracked, so it is not tracked between one AP and another, also if have same SSID...
And everytime log in again...

Fortunately I do not see that yet on my work network. Usually they change MAC only for each SSID.
Maybe it is different on networks that provide a logon portal page, we don't have that (no "hotspot").

If I were to write what I think of those geniuses who invent "for us and for our privacy" these breakups of... (like also ESNI on TLS 1.3, DoH and others, but not DoT)
I would have to ban myself from the forum...

You will have to debug this locally. It is not a problem I see (both on v6 and v7 RouterOS).
Make a packet capture of the DHCP traffic and analyze it using Wireshark to see what is really happening.

From your screenshot I see something strange...

What is your RouterOS version and what RouterBOARD is?

Post the results of
/export file=config
on forum, removing first serial number, usernames, passwords and emails

I have no knowledge of Wireshark?

Then you need to hire someone who does... or live with the issue.

I have the confirm, you migrated from very old RouterOS version to 6.49.6, with all the consequences on configuration.
I have also requested you the export, but ignoring that, my guess game end here.
