Dude CHR upgrade to V7 issue

Sun May 15, 2022 10:38 pm

Hi,
I'm trying to uprade to 7.2.3 from a running Dude 6.49.6 on CHR hosted on VMWare 6.7.
Upgrade not going well, at reboot the CHR cannot start anymore...(I use snapshot to reverse).

on console at boot I have the load system prompt after few seconds, I have the message:
ERROR: no system package found!
Kernel panic.
Rebooting...

I tried, in disk ctrl IDE / Scsi LSI logic, etc.....

any idea ?

regards

Armand

Do you perhaps have separate disk for Dude files?

I don't use it myself, just did a quick test for the other thread and it seems that v7 with more than one disk => problem.

Workaround found
I have installed a fresh new 7.2.3 on a single disk, import V6 dude DB.
Now it is ok.

Upgrade 6 to 7 with more than one disk is buggy at the moment....

My fix was:
On the current setup (6.48.4, with 64MB system disk and 60 GB disk1 where the DB is)
- export the DB to file
- resize the main disk from 64MB to 2GB on hypervisor
- Resize the partition using GParted live CD
- Start the RouterOS, go to Dude -> Settings and change the data path to the main disk
- Import the DB
- Upgrade to 7.3.1
- Detach the old data disk
- All good but now there is a problem, that all agent connections are lost (Agents are still on 6.48.4)
