New Device with Default Configuration - Fast way to get own config on it ...

Sun Jun 12, 2022 7:09 pm

Hi !

Here the question: I have a custom config - how to get it the fastest way on a new device ? How to manage about 300 "wAP ac" to get the config ?

Grüße

All on same RouterOS version?

Power on perfectly new device with default config,
save config with
/export file=new
save new on disk
power your personalized AP,
do
/export file=model
at this point compare with some file differencies utility, like windiff, the two files.
based on differencies you see, create a conversion script
when done, test the script on new AP,
do
/export file=test
and compare test.rsc with model.rsc
If the differencies are only on MAC address, you create the correct script,
at that point program one-by-one the other 299 APs.

Or as alternative, use model.rsc for progeam directly other AP, just netinstalled without applyng the default configuration.
Just make sure you do not create MAC clones.

Or pay someone than is able to do that, and on netinstall, just keeping reset pressed when the AP go up, use "Configure Script" and all go more fastly.
