Just downloaded extra packages for routeros 7.1 and can't seem to find ups, has it been discontinued?

Same question here. RouterOS 7.1 and wanted to use the UPS package... is it no longer in development, or is it being re-written?

There has been no mention of it being discontinued and there have been updates to it for RouterOS v6 recently, so hopefully it is being worked on.

We use the APC UPS-Link Communications Protocol through a USB CDC interface to report the status of DC UPS to Mikrotiks so rather rely on the package being available.

Its mention (Normis) that some stuff are till missing in 7.1 and it should cover about 90% of all use cases. Later version (7.2+) would have more function,

I need ups package also. I got a new RB5009 today that can't be downgraded. I avoided getting RB4011 for this case because didn't have usb interface. After getting RB5009 i noticed that the new stable version of ros 7.1.1 didn't have ups package at all in extra packages.

RB951G still works fine with v6.x of software, so you do not need to upgrade.

You can downgrade, but not sure if config would be ok. Going from 6.x to 7.x router my convert some config.
So a backup before upgrade. And do not upgrade on production equipment before you have test that an upgrade goes well on a test system.

It is wise to make a backup before the upgrade

UPS was not released due to some incompatibility with USB ports on some devices, it will return. Sorry about not mentioning this anywhere, it was an oversight :(

Well, this would be a blocker at least for our ISP company. Every site's UPS is connected via USB to some Mikrotik device and monitoring with alerts is made. Now all routers are upgraded to v7.1 and our UPS monitoring is gone. Please add it back :(.

@kubotor

This is all your fault that you run inn to problems.

As an ISP you should know that you should test every upgrade on devices not in production. If all does work and there are no showstoppers, then upgrade the routers, if its needed.

thanx for the info, i will wait hope it will be back soon.
Of course i have the auto+manual backup before i manage to upgrade to ROS 7 but for now dont wants to play/research how with downgrade... it is probably possible only to factory firmware + restore backup. I dont have any test device :) only "production one" :)

I have redeployed the old device since ros 7 is still far from being stable. Ups package was not the only problem. It would have been perfect if was able to downgrade to ros 6 at this moment but for now RB5009 is waiting into the shelves.
