RouterOS blocking allowing forwarded ports inbound but blocking outbound

Thu Jun 23, 2022 4:15 pm

Hello,

I have 3 sites, one running a Mikrotik router. On each site there is a camera recorder for which we forward TCP ports 8010 to 8012. Everything is working fine except when connected within the network of the site with the Mikrotik router, it is impossible to connect to the camera recorder on the other sites. Outside that network, the problem does not exist.

Besides forwarding the ports inbound, what do I need to add to the configuration to allow outbound traffic using these same ports to another site?

Thanks
Piet

Blind guess without seeing your config, you have incomplete dstnat rules without specified destination address. Add dst-address-type=local to them and it will help.

Hello Sob,

your blind guess was right: adding dst-address-type=local fixed the issue immediately.

Thanks for your help!
