Access RB2011UiAS-2HnD from other router.

Thu Jun 30, 2022 2:32 pm

Hello,

I would like to ask someone for help.
I am new to mikrotik routers, and I can't figure out a fairly simlpe task.

I have my main router (not mikrotik 192.168.1.1) and my mikrotik (192.168.88.1) router is connected to that one.

So isp-> main router -> mikrotik router.

I can ping 192.168.1.1 when I am on the mikrotik network, but i can't ping 192.168.88.1 from 192.168.1.1.

The mikrotik router is factory reseted, and the main router connects to it on ether1.

I am going to have devices on the mikrotik network which I would like be abble to ssh to from main network 192.168.1.1. For now I can't even locate these devices from the main routers network.

Many thanks in advance!

On default configuration the RouterBOARD act as router and separate the two networks.

You reach 1.1 on MikroTik side just because is the wan gateway of the ROuterBOARD.

For act transparently, the router must be really full resetted, without default config,

add all etherX and wlan1 to one new bridge,
add dhcp client on bridge,
add a new security profile for wireless,
configure and activate wireless interface (802.11 only, not "any", nstreme or nv2),
and is act "perfectly" as a managed switch with access point.

First test if you can open routerboard with winbox using MAC address and not the IP,
or when is fully resetted, without default config, the board do not have any IP!!!
