Strange issue, connecting to test APs, wAP ac's tested running 7.3rc1 and 7.3rc2, very slow winbox. Running on wine 7.9 on Ubuntu 20.04

Connecting to any other v6 routers is fast like normal. Anyone else seeing this?

Running on Win11, no problems connecting to 7.3rc1, 7.3rc2, 7.2, 7.2.3.
Various ROS6 devices (mostly 6.49.5), no problems either.

@holvoetn thanks for feedback.

Humm, ok so it's probably something on my end. I will have time later to test on other systems/software combinations to see what's causing it. Last version (3.35) works fine.

Hi,
I keep having issues with the position of *some* windows inside winbox. They tend to move to the upper left corner of the enlarged window. Sometimes its only the pppoe-out1 or lte1 and sometimes its all of the opened windows, they get all mixed up, one on top of the other. It happens on my ubuntu2204 with wine 5.0.3 and I thought it was just me. But I tried it on w10, too.

Thank you for your report. The issue has been reproduced and we will try to resolve it in the upcoming WinBox/RouterOS releases.

You are very welcome!

As a native linux user, believe me, no bug or lack of anything in winbox bothers me, but only one little thing: I am used (addicted) to the very fast copy-paste function of linux apps. Just selecting any text and middle-clicking is enough. Ctrl+c or Crtl+Ins and after Ctrl+v or Shift+Ins is killing me. Not to mention Select > right click > select "copy" > click elsewhere > right click > select "paste" and so on...
I know, this is up to the wine developers, not you. But I had to tell it somewhere! :=)

Last thought: well, you could compile winbox for linux!

Is it possible to make filtering by COMMENT case insensitive?
I often search some thing by comment. But if comment is, for example, "Printer", but I try to filter "printer", nothing will be found.
I guess filtering by comment must be case insensitive.

@sinisa, what not work? For me on both 32 and 64 versions "Open In New Window" work without any problem.

Agreed but I think I read somewhere it’s a wine issue and not a Winbox issue. It does suck without it though.

For those who experience problems with the new window functionality - it is also working just fine for us. Indeed it seems to be Wine related. Have you tried to upgrade Wine first and then test this functioanliy?

I am currently running wine-staging 7.9 with Winbox 3.36. When I try to open with "Open in New Window" selected it initially appears like nothing happens but then about 30 seconds later a window pops like router has been disconnected.

wine 7.7 here and new window thingy is broken. wine 7.10 has not landed on manjaro linux yet.

PS: what does "open in new window" actually? For me this looks like it forks another winbox process. When I tick the checkbox and hit connect the window flickrs for some 200ms. Nothing happens. Then I exit Winbox. After like 30 - 60sec suddenly another Winbox window appears and telling me it timed out to connect. Like wtf. I would suggest to avoid "cheap tricks".

Indeed looks like a wine issue. I just wiped my wine prefix for winbox and redid it and it's been fine so far. Some old left over file probably, strange as I haven't had that issue before. Everything was already up to date. I didn't save a copy of the old wine prefix to compare, if it happens again I will. Using wine-7.10 (Staging)

Well,
here on wine-5.0.3 (Ubuntu 5.0.3-3ubuntu2) and ubuntu 21.10, "open in new window" starts immediatelly a new winbox window connected to the mt I selected.
Normal.

It all started months ago, can't really remember the date, I have reported it here but cannot find that post.
If I remember correctly, it started with Wine 6, and is still issue in Wine 7 (today it's 7.10 Staging on openSUSE Tumbleweed), and all versions in between.

This is tcpdump of the connection attempt:

So login has passed OK (if I try wirh wrong user/password it immeditely tells me so), and "downloading DLLs" (or something similar, it passes too quickly) also passes (there is nothing to download since I have already connected to this router with this ROS version), and then it stalls

And here Winbox gives up, counts 5 seconds, reconnects and from now on everything works fine.

Same thing happens when both devices are on same network segment, when using cable or wifi, even via VPN.

Yes, it might be something in newer Wine, but maybe it would be easier for developers of Winbox to communicate with developers of Wine...

I mean this menu under DHCP static lease edit window...this list of address lists is not alphabeticaly sorted (check on your own Mikrotik).

Yes @IntLDaniel, now I understand where, and is true: is not alphabetically sorted (tested on 3.36 both 32 and 64, ROS 6.46.8 and 6.48.6)

Yes, very uncomfortable for us. I divide hundreds of our wisp users via DHCP to different groups, sometimes I need to change it and it is very difficult to search the right group in the list :-(

I think that I found a bug with WiFIwave2 on WinBox.

When checking for a WiFi client connected to my hAP ac3, I spotted this:
Screenshot 2022-06-09 095114.png
WinBox is not showing Hours, Minutes or Days.

CLI is fine, like below:
[the-only-user@hAP-ac3] > /interface/wifiwave2/registration-table/print
Flags: A - AUTHORIZED
Columns: INTERFACE, SSID, MAC-ADDRESS, UPTIME, SIGNAL
# INTERFACE SSID MAC-ADDRESS UPTIME SIGNAL
0 A wifi-iot <redacted> IoT 7C:49:EB:XX:XX:XX 23h34m48s90ms -36

WinBox is not showing Hours, Minutes or Days.

CLI is fine, like below:

Yup, it's in seconds. And I agree that humanized display would be nicer.

Speaking of time in WinBox, the address list timeout input field in IP filters should allow inputs like “1h” as the CLI does, and it should translate inputs like “01:00:00” to “1h” for the same reason.

I confirm than with Winbox 3.36 on 6.48.6 can not save wireless settings, like data rates, tx-power, tx-power mode, etc. on mibsbe (i do not check others)
On CLI work correctly as expected, and the changes are reflected on winbox

EDIT: Fixed on 3.37
