router does not forward vrf traffic when local router adres overlaps

Thu Jul 07, 2022 4:21 pm

Hi

I have separate OSPF instance with designated area and routing table. The problem is that if I send packet from addresses 192.168.250.4/32 or 192.168.168.250.5/32 from device attached to vlan_test, and there is 192.168.250.5/30 address on VRF router ( lets say on dummy bridge or any other interface that is not part of VRF ) that traffic is not forwarded in VRF routing table. When I disable 192.168.250.5/30 on VRF router, everything works fine.
VRF router
 /routing ospf instance print
 name="test" router-id=192.168.254.38 distribute-default=never redistribute-connected=no redistribute-static=no redistribute-rip=no redistribute-bgp=no redistribute-other-ospf=no metric-default=1 metric-connected=20 metric-static=20 metric-rip=20 metric-bgp=auto metric-other-ospf=auto  in-filter=ospf-in out-filter=ospf-out routing-table=test

 /routing ospf area print detail
name="test" instance=test type=default area-id=5.5.5.5

/ip route vrf print
routing-mark=test interfaces=vpls-test,vlan_test
I have assumed prefixes in VRF routing table and default routing table can overlap.

This is a limitation of ROSv6 VRF implementation.

Yes, v7 has completely different VRF implementation.
