What you mean for "compatible"???
Is clear only for you...
When making question, think that the other people do not know what you want...
For example, what hardware and RouterOS your use...

You shouldn't be using PPTP anyways since it is not a safe VPN protocol.
You can search in the manual other VPN protocols https://help.mikrotik.com/docs/display/ROS/RouterOS
You could use among others L2TP/IPsec, Wireguard, OVPN etc...

I'm not surprised that PPTP has been removed from Android, only that it's taken so long for it to happen (Apple removed it for iOS some years ago).

In my experience:
  • L2TP works well and is natively supported by Android,
  • OpenVPN also works well but requires the Android client to be installed.

I haven't used the other VPN types on Android yet so can't comment, but I expect they will also work quite well.

Take a look at these specific references for configuration guidance:

Wireguard.
Dead simple.

But it comes with a caveat, you need to be on ROS7.
And that brings us back to post #2 ...

For VPN on Android:

if ROS 6 => iKEv2
if ROS 7 => iKEv2 or Wireguard

Yes, but any device properly configured inside the network can be used for the Wireguard...
In my case, the main router is not on V7, but i have another device in the network upgraded to v7 so that i can use wireguard.

Yes, I have used OpenVPN for connecting to the MikroTik VPN and I've also used SSTP (for those Windows users out there). The only reason I dind't use L2TP is because the office already had that setup on a different server with the MikroTik doing port forwarding (They also had PPTP but I was working to shut that down as quickly as possible).
