Tue Jul 26, 2022 3:25 pm

Use 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz both at the same time.
Use 20-MHz wide channels.
In the center of your area, you will need about 6 APs with tight small sector antennas facing out.
On the outside border of your area, you will need 6 to 10 APs with tight sector antennas facing in.
All APs need to be in bridge mode , and you backhaul everything to your NAT router.
All APs ( 2.4 and 5 GHZ ) need to have the same SSID ( and key if you will be using a key ).
Consider using bandwidth limiter so that no one single person/client can consume all the bandwidth an AP can deliver. ( Something like PfSense Walled-Garden / Captive-Portal --- Where you set the maximum bandwidths per each MAC address that connects to your wireless network ). I would set it for something like 4 to 8 Meg down and 256-k up per MAC. This way , everybody has a fair portion of bandwidth that is not chocked off by a few abusers.

I assume this if for a temp coverage area such as an outdoor event.
If this is for homes, then you really need to re-think about using fiber , because there is just not enough frequency spectrum to run 2-thousand wireless connections and pass 25-to-150 Meg of traffic to 75 percent of your active bandwidth users. 2,000 users consuming 10-Meg is 20-Gig , there is no simple wireless solution to deliver that kind of reliable bandwidth.

For backhaul do you mean you expect the APs NOT to be wired to a central router and they will have to be connected via ptp connection to the main router?

So are you thinking Cube60 PTP connections, ethernet to combo 2.4/5ghz APs locally???

Coverage area is useless, provide a GPS point to get some ideas from Google Hearth.
Is everything flat or does it have obstacles? Is it a square? Is it a building?
If you have a 50m × 50m place it's not really that big, but 2000 users on 50m × 50m are too many...
Not even the best competitor can cover everything for 2000 users with a single device.

Behind the various APs necessary, there is also a Core Router that manages all the connections to be considered...

If is a square, all flat and AP can see eachother, is a big mess and never work correctly as expected...
Must be used some cell-like method with many AP with low gain and low tx power, connected by wire.

Don´t use MikroTik access points for high density.
