Route all traffic through OpenVPN client

Wed Feb 09, 2022 8:50 pm

Hello,
I know this question kinda discussed and here and there are some topics about it :)
But I have really beginner experience with Mikrotik solution (not rest IT),
I'm looking for step by step instructions on how to set things,
The current situation is the following:
1. My Mikrotik is RouterOS 7.0.4
2. Router is a 4G network router, all home devices connect to it
3. I have bought a dedicated server (Ubuntu, console only) with a built-in OpenVPN (in another country where I try to get access to)
4. I can connect to this OpenVPN using Windows client and traffic is well redirected of Windows PC to the country where VPN server is hosted (even whatismyipaddress.com give IP and location of another country)
5. I could set up OpenVPN client on my Mikrotik router and it has the status "connected" (also can ping one of the IP's from VPN, I suspect it is client IP as it is not Gateway)

Now I want to route all traffic through the OpenVPN client, so all my home devices that are connecting via WIFI/Cable, by default would be seen as from another location/country, here I am stuck because of a small experience with Mikrotik, so I'm looking for help :) Anyone?

Can you share how you fixed it? I have same story.
Ubuntu with OpenVPN server with white public IP
HEX PoE with 7.2.3 as home router (192 network) connected to OpenVPN (10 network).
But traffic from devices behind Mikrotik go through Mikrotik's WAN.
Here is my question on the forum - but no any answer.
