Using the wps button to connect a device

Sat Aug 13, 2022 5:23 am

Hi all,

I have a hap ac^2 RBD52G-5HacD2HnD router running ROS 7.4.1.
I need to use wps to connect a device to it. The device is proprietary and only supports connecting via the wps mechanism.

I am using the commandline therefore how went to /interface wireless
I see an option called wps-push-button.

What do I need to do? The router does have a physical reset button but I cannot tell if it will act like a wps button.

You may want to start by using "search" ?

https://help.mikrotik.com/docs/display/ ... erface-WPS

- Activate the function
- Virtually press WPS button
- check registration table the correct device has connected
- disable functionality for security reasons, even if the AP does not have a physical WPS button ("WPS active" also slows down wifi, so I was told)

PS more advanced: it IS possible to use a script and re-use the function of the reset button to act as WPS button. I think :D

Hi holvoetn,
Many thanks. I did search but I apparently used the wrong keywords because I did not find this reference.
I'll try the wps once my device gets here.
