Recovering RouterBOARD Bootloader (.fwf file)

Mon Aug 22, 2022 12:37 pm

We bought a batch of used LHG5-5ND antennas only to discover that they have been modified to run Cambium software.

Some of the devices can be recovered back to RouterOS with Netinstall, but some of them don't pick up in Netinstall while following the procedure.

I managed to get those that don't work in Netinstall to receive a boot file via DHCP with TFTPD but no luck getting it to boot back into RouterOS with this method.

I have tried uploading the .npk file with no luck, and after reading tried all of the .fwf files in the .npk package (15 files in total in the mipsbe software release). The files upload to the router with no problem but no luck getting into RouterOS.

Is there a specific file that I can use to boot back into RouterOS, and where can I get it?
Otherwise what can I try to restore the software to RouterOS?
