mounting the device with magnets

Mon Aug 29, 2022 3:44 pm

Hey!
A (maybe) stupid question here. I want to mount my router (LtAP mini LTE kit) with a few neodymium magnets.
Can this (static but strong) magnetic field interfere with router operation ?

honest quiestion !

thanks

Possibly can cause problems. If you want to do this I would attach a steel (ferrous/magnetic) plate to the bottom of the device (as large as the bottom of the device) and mount the magnets to that. The metal will act as shielding for the magnets, the stronger the magnets the thicker the metal should be.

Given the fact that mAP lite has mounting magnets built in, I highly doubt that it would have any serious effect.
