IP address & VLAN - Best practices to bridge 2 routers via a wireless PTP link

Fri Sep 23, 2022 11:04 am

Topology: Router1 - Radio 1 ------- Radio 2 - Router 2
Question: I will connect two routers via a PTP wireless link. The routers will have a /29 network with a VLAN. I'm wondering if I can assign IPs of the same network to the wireless radios, or if I should create a new /29 subnet for them? If IPs on the same subnet, I'm assuming they can have the same VLAN (so that I can reach out the radios from both ends), if a different network address, can I share the VLAN for both networks? Or should I create one VLAN for each network? Thanks!
