Dell DW5821e experience anyone?

Thu Aug 11, 2022 11:27 pm

Hi, in a quest for searching an alternative for buggy Mikrotik's own LTE6 modem, I came across a Dell DW5821e which I am able to buy for a significantly discounted price. It's mentioned in official RoS changelog and also in list of supported RoS peripherals, but who knows how is the real experience. Anybody has any experience with this modem? I plan to use it with RBM33G. Thanks.

I've just ordered one. In a month or two I'll have the answer.

Mikrotik produced ROUTEROS.
Router.
When it comes to anything else... I tend to find alternatives work better.

Ok,
I've got mine a few days ago. Unfortunately it came with version: T77W968.F1.0.0.4.2.GC.010
RouterOS doesn't give much details and almost no control. I guess I need fw 1.0.0.5.2.
After a few days I still didn't managed to update the fw, linux fwupdmgr has the exact same as latest, in windows 10 on Dell PC I couldn't manage to update it, even on fresh install.
so, it works but won't play nice.
