I was using MikroTik RB2011UiAS-2HnD with properly configured PPPoE and VPNs for over a year now. The old router had RouterOS 6.49.6.
Now I bought 1100AHx4 and I just tried to recover from a backup file of the old router. Everything seems to be fine, except the PPPoE connection, which just doesn't work. I contacted the internet provider, he told me he already had some problems with 1100AHx4 with PPPoE and told me he solved the problem by installing RouterOS 6.44.5 on that router and everything worked fine out of nowhere. My 1100AHx4 can only go down to 6.45.9, but the provider told me he managed to install the older version somehow. I am not a fan of this as the older versions have vulnerabilities of course, although for now i am just looking for a solution to this. The provider told me that he doesnt even see the router trying to connect to the pppoe.
I cannot ping either 8.8.8.8 nor www.google.com from both, the router, and any other pc inside the network, as the local network works just fine.
Anyone have any ideas on why it does not work? I tried recovering the backup on the 1100AHx4 with RouterOS 6.45.9 and 7.6, both did not work. I did connect the cables to the exact same numbered ports on both routers.
