replacing R11e-LTE with R11e-LTE6

Mon Nov 28, 2022 4:33 pm

Is it possible to (easily) swap the modem boards into a RBSXTR&R11e-LTE, precisely an R11e-LTE6 instead of R11e-LTE?

You can. Now you'd want to make sure the new modem supported same LTE bands you need (and/or had seen) before doing this. The SXT case has slot on side to help [almost] prying it opening.

Inside, the connectors are tacked with some lightweight glue but comes off pretty the R11e pretty easily. And can just reattach the 2 connectors to the new modem, either removing the glue or being careful to make sure it ain't in the connector. Whether you need re-apply some non-conductive material to hold the connectors...kinda depends on how extreme the weather is where you'll be using it.

RouterOS should just pick it up.

Thank you for your response. I assumed that was the case, but it would be sad to disassemble the STX and replace the module on the board and then discover the incompatibility. Certainly the bands are those in the area.
