CubeG-5ac-60ay

Hi,
I have a pair of Mikrotik 60 PRO AC equipment (CubeG-5ac-60ay).
According to the information on the web, they can make links up to 2.4 km, however on the calculator page www.mikrotik.com/calculator any link above 300 meters shows it as impossible. Any experience with this equipment at 60GHZ and distances of 1km with direct vision?

The calculator is for 5GHz only (it actually says that in your images). Don't use it for estimating 60GHz links.

So why doesn't it remove 60GHz devices from the list when you select frequency 5GHz?
It does it the other way round.

This morning we have tried to make the connection on the beach, and it has been impossible in 60GHz despite having antenna B at a height of 15 meters from the mast and antenna A in a building more than 10 meters away. Without obstacles and with good weather. He was barely able to connect to 5GHZ with very poor speed.
Perhaps the information on the website is too optimistic, and the 2.4 kms are not reached so easily. Any suggestions?

My rule of thumb for reliable, rain-fade-proof links to customers, is to keep the distance to 100-150m below what MikroTik says the radios can do.

I have had success installing MikroTik 60GHz gear up to 800m (wAP 60 to LHG 60's), but usually try to keep it to 700m or less, and 450m or less for Cube 60's to wAP 60's.

Cube60-Cube60 (802.11ad version) will work up to 800m. (At 800-1200m range I use Ubiquiti Gigabeam Plus, Gigabeam LR, or AF60.). For radios with only the lower four channels, 58320 and 68400 better than the other two channels at those distances.

With the 802.11ay model that you have, you have to use frequency 66960 to even hope to get 2+km. Personally I'd limit it to about 1.5km due to rain fade.

For Cube alignment (both models), I place my phone against a smooth edge in front (ay) or back (ad) and adjust it so that the camera (which is zoomed in to 10x or so) is centered on the remote end, and lock down the mounts. Theoretically you should also be able to use any of the corners as a sight line.

because this model includes a small 5GHz module, for backup link purposes. Calculator uses that one for the estimate, not the main 60GHz interface.

Please adjust the calculator to calculate the 60Ghz band. Which is the main use of the Cube. Thank you
