RB4011iGS+5HacQ2HnD-IN - IPoE - SFP

Wed Dec 28, 2022 9:10 am

Please help.

I bought Mikrotik RB4011iGS+5HacQ2HnD-IN ( https://mikrotik.com/product/rb4011igs_5hacq2hnd_in ) and SFP module S-31DLC20D SM.

My ISP uses a Huawei device, which has much weaker features than the RB4011. I want to replace my Huawei with RB4011 and use only one device (Mikrotik RB4011).
I have been trying for 10 days to set up Mikrotik for internet connection, but I failed. Huawei uses IPoE for connection. The settings are in the pictures in attachments.
Mikrotik does not have IPoE setup using QuickSetup. I have tried 10 days and read many topic forum about IPoE (DHCP client , Option 60, Radius....)
I'm so tired because I'm new in Mikrotik and everything is so complicated for me about IPoE in Mikrotik.
I would reset the settings to the default, if anyone can help me how to set up Mikrotik what seems so simple on Huawei? Can someone provide a list of commands to set parameters like in huawei or maybe I can provide teamviewer or anydesk if some can help me?

Thanks for your answer.
So, I need to buy GPON module?

Please give me your opinion if it would work if I buy this GPON?

Thanks

Is there an SFP in the Huawei box, or is its optical port integrated?

Other than that, the Huawei setup shows that your ISP uses a VLAN to provide internet. QuickSet doesn't support this (yet?), so you'll have to use the advanced configuration methods. To give you the necessary commands, we'll need the starting point. So once you have the proper SFP, reset the 4011's configuration to defaults, open a terminal window in Winbox or WebFig, type /export file=default and press Enter, then go to the Files section, download default.rsc, open it using a text editor, remove the serial number and post the rest here between
and
tags.

Huawei, has an integrated modem.
Do you think it is possible connect to the internet using SFP?

As far as I understand about GPON, that is impossible. Am I right?

Mikrotik has apparently withdrawn their own GPON SFP (the one you have found on their website) for overheating reasons, but there seem to be other SFPs that are in fact miniature GPON modems, except that their electrical interface facing towards the router is not the usual Ethernet one but the SFP inner interface, such as https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004867364829.html I have never tested it myself, so be careful - check at least the wavelengths. And whereas the cooling surface seems to be extended here using the 3D structure, it may turn out to suffer from overheating too.

I won't try that modem for now. I have no more energy.
Sometime later I will try this GPON :

It is important that I received information here that these MikroTik SFPs do not work with the Huawei optical network.
I give up for now.
Thanks everyone for your help.
