redirecting friendly.url.com/whatever to a local.ip:port

Fri Feb 03, 2023 11:21 am

Hey guys! I have some services running on my local server on different ports and I want them to be redirected to a friendly.url.com/whatever.
I have no idea what something like that is called and what I should be looking for...

I know it's not possible in the URL DNS Entries as I've been told. So... Can someone point me in the right direction?

Not possible with Mikrotik.
If your MT supports "containers" you can consider trying to get something like NGINX/Traeffix etc active and "redirect" from there.
You need a reverse-proxy of some sort for these functions and MT does not have it embedded.

Hey! Thanks for your reply and advice.
I think the RB3011 does support containers? I'll look it up. But just knowing what to search for is already a huge leap forward!

Is the RB3011 ARM?

I couldn't get the Traefik to work on MT. I think Nginx Proxy will work.
