RB4011iGS+RM 48v Connector

Fri Feb 10, 2023 7:00 pm

I am looking to deploy RB4011iGS+RM in a 48v DC environment. I was thinking of cutting the connector off the included 24v 1500ma power supply and connecting it to a 48v power supply with a 1amp fuse. Since the included power supply is rated at 24v @ 1500ma, I would think that running the 4011 on 48v means that the amperage draw would be cut in half to a max of 750ma. Is this acceptable and is the barrel connector rated for this? I see that mcmaster-carr sells Barrel 2.1mmx5.5mm connectors that are actually spec'd at 48v @ 5amps so this would probably be my backup plan if the included barrel connector can't handle 48v. Any help here would be appreciated.

We have done that with CCR1009. Beware that "48 volts" often means negative 48V. So the chassis must be isolated from ground/earth.
