L41G-2axD password

Thu Mar 02, 2023 11:00 am

We bought 10 new Mikrotik L41G-2axD with RouterOS v7.6, none of them can go into control, neither through the web interface, nor through winbox. The combination login admin was used, password is empty. Tried login admin, password admin . Who knows what the password is for this router. Tell me how to use the reset button? how many seconds to hold it down? with power on? or clamp when off, and then give power?

Why is there a password from the factory? We've had an automated script for a very long time that logs into the new router, sets all parameters including SSIDs and SSID passwords and system passwords.

Now we have to manually enter the factory password? Any way around this?

Thanks

Here we go again ...

viewtopic.php?t=195518

Various suggestions in that thread to solve the "automatic installation problem".
FlashFig being a good candidate.

Thanks for the update. Not going to read all those posts. But scanning the solutions, still seems as much more difficult than before and for what purpose?

EU legislation for one. And it's to protect devices which get connected to internet without any kind of configuration customization (including empty administrative password). Nothing that we (you and I and even MT) can do about.

Not only EU.
