CAPSMAN, Certificate, Discovery Interface

Wed Mar 08, 2023 11:25 am

Hello Support and others !

We are driving CAPSMAN with 6.49.7 (on CCR1009-7G-1C-1S+). In the past we connected RBwAPG-5HacD2HnD (wAP ac) with same RouterOS using the Certificate request and defined a Discovery Interface. These AP were listet with MAC Adresses. Others, not configured with "Discovery Interface", are listed with the IP Adresse.

In some test caes we wondered about the behaviour and bad data speed on some configured and uses Subinterfaces. They are provisioned by CAPSMAN (not manually added), have the same "MAC Address" as the "Master Interface" an the Radio MAC says: "00:00:00:00:00:00".

Questions 1:
Why are Subinterfaces running with the same MAC Address from the Master Interface?

We changed theses APs not using a certficate (to access to the CAPSMAN) and not using the Discovery Interface.

Question 2:
If you habe cofigured no bridge on your AP und you use the forwarding via USP to CAPSMAN, how do pakets get managed to Master- und Subinterfaces when there ist the same MAC Address on diffrenet SSID Subinterfaces (and brodcasted) and are theses circumstances the reason for increasing porformance problems?

Please give some more information beside the known documentations. Thanks !

Grüße
Stefan

Why are Subinterfaces running with the same MAC Address from the Master Interface?[
AFAIK subinterfaces should have different MAC addresses.
On my capsman installation each SSID does have a different MAC address.

Can you please share your complete config?
