RouterBOARD RB941-2nD - setup

Mon Mar 13, 2023 3:21 pm

Hello everyone, I would kindly need some assistance with setting up my Mikrotik router. After following the Mikrotik guide on https://help.mikrotik.com/docs/display/ ... figuration, I was not able to ping 8.8.8.8 from the terminal. Alltought i cant access the router through 192.168.88.1, but only via MAC address. I tried starting over multiple times, even after removing the configuration and following the entire guide again, but I couldn't get it to work. After 2 days, I decided to seek advice. I currently use TP Link as default, but I would like to switch. I should be receiving the IP address dynamically/automatically. Thank you for your help.

I Attach a file where you can see i started from a scract to the part where should i be able to ping 8.8.8.8 and than resolve name from MikroTik terminal.

I appreciate any advice. Thank you.

Hello there,

i find out that if a delete full config and start from scratch with first setting of
/ip dhcp-client add disabled=no interface=ether1
than i can ping from terminal to 8.8.8.8 but the problem is that when i want to have bridge
/interface bridge add name=local
/interface bridge port add interface=ether2 bridge=local
/ip address add address=192.168.88.1/24 interface=local

and dhcp server
/ip dhcp-server setup
dhcp server interface: local
dhcp address space: 192.168.88.0/24
gateway for dhcp network: 192.168.88.1
addresses to give out: 192.168.88.2-192.168.88.254
dns servers: 192.168.88.1
lease time: 10m
than i cant ping... where could be the problem please? The same problem is that i need to login to mikrotik only with that ETH2 mac address...

Thank you. :)

I figure it out that i cant have DNS server like 192.168.88.1 but need to have 8.8.8.8, i cant get it there why. What else should i setup that i could have 192.168.88.1.
