Why can’t I access ports mapped by UPnP from LAN using WAN IP?

Sat Mar 18, 2023 2:29 pm

Hi everyone,

I have a question about UPnP port mapping on RouterOS. I want to access some services on my devices in LAN using my WAN IP address. I know how to set up firewall rules to allow this, but it is very tedious to do it for every port. RouterOS can automatically map ports using UPnP, but it seems that these ports are only accessible from outside the network, not from inside.

Why doesn’t RouterOS provide an option to enable or disable access to UPnP mapped ports from LAN using WAN IP? Is there any technical reason or security concern for this? Or is it just a missing feature that could be added in future versions?

I would appreciate any feedback or suggestions on this topic. Thank you!
