CRS354-48G-4S+2Q+ not respondig

Fri Mar 24, 2023 12:06 pm

Hello,

we have around 20 pieces of the CRS354-48G-4S+2Q+ Switch. We had also the problem described in that topic: viewtopic.php?t=160561 but for now the switches are running fine, exept one failure.
We have Ports connected from ether1 to ether20 and ether25 to ether44, all uplinks, to our other Switches are made with sfp-sfpplus3 and sfp-sfpplus4.
We have the Problem that on every Spanning Tree change, this type of Switch is not respondig any more. Only a reboot helps, so we activated a Watchdog timer for reboot, if the default gateway is not reachable.
If there are no Spanning Tree changes we have uptimes from 33 weeks and more.
We have deployed this RouterOs versions:
  • 6.47.10
  • 6.48.4
  • 6.48.5
  • 6.48.6
  • 6.49beta46
  • 7.6
and all of this Versions are affected.

So MikroTik, how can we/you fix that issue?

Hi we 2 are having the same problem. Switches are running Switch OS and will lock up, only a hard reboot will bring them back into service. All lights and ports stay lite but the switch will not pass any traffic.

Minimal config.

2 - VLANS, with 8 ports hard fixed to VLAN 100 all ports are on a flat network. Using the SFP+ ports to uplink switches and router via MikroTik DAC cables.

Thank you,
Chris

We are seeing this issue too. Have been a happy CRS328-24P-4S+ user with over 50 in use rock solid.

Bought a 354 2 weeks ago and it came with 7.6 installed and was not passing traffic intermittently. Sounds like the issue is the same as yours. Also have a 354 from a few years ago on 6.48.2 and that one has been fine.

Have updated to 7.9 and no difference just enabled watchdog timer to get around it. The disk is also wiped on every reboot so persistent logging not possible. Only pulling power brings back service and no autosupout is saved.

Have toyed with turning off STP - have you tried that?

If not guess I'll have to downgrade to 6.48.2 until they fix the issue.

Have now set a watchdog timer on default gateway but even if that works its massively disruptive to our users when it goes down. We are a school and it happened during a exam this week and forced a whole group to retake it.

When did this start happening for everyone. We had no issues for 12 months and now random reboots because we have ping watchdog set we wait for a reboot.
