CRS326-24S+2Q fault light

Fri Jul 22, 2022 12:20 pm

Hi all,

Occasionally when I reboot this device, it doesn't come back up. The User and Fault lights stay on and nothing appears on the console. Is this a known issue at all, or do I likely have some faulty hardware?

Cheers,
Mark

Check green capacitor on PSU, like this, as example:
download/file.php?id=54344

Will do thank you. It's only a few weeks old, so hope it's nothing like this as I need to ship it to Scotland next week.

Cheers,

Same issue here, but it happens at each soft reboot.
If I remove the PSU and wait around 5 minutes then plug it back in, then the switch starts well.

Happens wether I am using RouterOS or SwOS. It just does not boot, not even "bios".

I do not have the same PSU

This is a strange one as another unit that I have does not have the same symptoms. It's gone back to Mikrotik now for repair, so we will see what they come up with.

Same issue here.

User and Fault LED on and no console output, but it happens almost every time I turn on the router. It makes no difference if I do a soft reboot or shutdown and restarting. This behaviour also appears after the router not being plugged in for a longer time.

The only way I can get it to boot is by pulling the plug and plugging it in again multiple times until it works.
I tried with forcing it into the backup booter via software and via the reset button, but it seems it makes no difference.

I also have another PSU than the one depicted on the photo from the Link.
Since it happens no matter if I plug in PSU1 or PSU2 (first) I'm not sure that this is the place to look for the problem.

I just got 2 of these today from Streakwave. 1 of them is fine the other is doing exactly as the OP describes.

I can’t seem to find a solution other than to send it back to Streakwave for a refund since they don’t have any to exchange. Is there another option?

Are you the one from the Reddit post? Mine was shipped to Poland for RMA and I don't have it back even now. This global semiconductor shortage is a nightmare.

Also, do you have a console cable? What is shown on reboot? I had nothing, but if you have something, it could be a different issue.

@patey

Yeah it was me.

I checked it with a console cable and when it hangs there’s no output after “Rebooting”.

Mikrotik support got back to me and said to RMA it so I’m going to wind up sending it back to Streakwave for a refund as they don’t have any replacements available.

It’s been kind of a bummer for my first Mikrotik experience but stuff happens.

I also have the same problem here in Brazil with this sw for over a year, I just opened mine and I'm testing it with a 12V 5A source, there is less crash than with the 2 original sources, I'll try with another 12V 10A source .

I wound up getting the vendor to take one of them back for a refund and then another vendor replaced the other defective switch and I immediately sold the replacement at a loss on eBay.

The TP-Link switches that I replaced them with have been flawless. I lost QSFP+ and some SFP+ ports but it was worth it to have switches that just work as they should.

/system health detect-fans solved the problem!

Faulty unit shows four fans in system health.
After detect-fan, I can see just three fans.
