I had no doubts considering your low transfer speedI'm on MacOS Ventura
I used ROS to format the drive and it worked perfectly.the disk is EXT4 formatted. I had to format my HDD to EXT4. Otherwise, it was shown as FAT even though it wasn't.
You cannot use ROS v6 with hAP ax3I don't mind downgrading ROS to V6 if SMB works!
Done! ThanksPlease feel free to tag me in your support ticket with Mikrotik.
I haven't tried with containers yet, I tried only with ROSE package but i couldn't login...Have you tried it already? were you able to mount the USB?
/disk
set usb1-part1 smb-export=yes
smb://routerIPaddress/usb1-part1
smb://routerIPaddress/
They are not available for all devices.SMB containers work very well. ROSE with NFS also works well. I haven't tried ROSE SMB yet on macOS since they improved it (7.9/7.10) but look forward to doing so.
/disk set [find slot=raid1-part1] smb-export=yes smb-user=amm0 smb-password=example
OK you are right but who can't use ROSE?but ROSE SMB to Mac seems to work.
ROSE is not compatible with hAP ac2 and other devices.just use ROSE package where SMB works better
when it is expected the documentation of smb rose storage to be completed? https://help.mikrotik.com/docs/display/ ... torage-SMB in my case I can't plan to move to ROSE-storage until full smb documentation is published. Can you all stop posting about "same issue" and just use ROSE package where SMB works better ?
This is why we made the ROSE package. To have better features and better speed.
It should work on hAPac2, or does it not fit on the flash?ROSE is not compatible with hAP ac2 and other devices.
It doesn't matter, I won't bother you anymore
There is not enough space...does it not fit on the flash?
Considering it's not just about one model...What do you suggest for the new topic name? I will rename it.
Does it work correctly with smaller files?I tried SMB with ROSE today and while I was able to mount the share on macOS 14.1.1, it did not work properly.
IDK, I put an alpine linux container with samba, it works well.Does it work correctly with smaller files?
Is ROSE intended to be a full replacement of IP/SMB?Can you all stop posting about "same issue" and just use ROSE package where SMB works better ?
This is why we made the ROSE package. To have better features and better speed.
[____@____] /disk> set usb1 smb-export=yes
failure: could not unmount filesystem - probably somebody still uses it
According to this:Do you guys know what am I missing now?
/disk set [find slot=raid1-part1] smb-export=yes smb-user=amm0 smb-password=example
You are quoting an old topic. Like I said, new SMB, new menu, new performance. Test 7.14 pleaseAccording to this:Do you guys know what am I missing now?
viewtopic.php?t=194451#p1017278
These SMB related settings are in /disk
Code: Select all/disk set [find slot=raid1-part1] smb-export=yes smb-user=amm0 smb-password=example
Once again, 7.13 = old SMB, slow. Use 7.14 with new SMB, which is fast and has issues fixed.I downgraded to 7.13.5 because I needed to work with my SMB server.
This was on 7.14.Here is the output copied directly from the CLI.
[admin@MikroTik] /disk> set us
usb1 usb1-part1 numbers raid-chunk-size smb-user usb2
[admin@MikroTik] /disk> set usb
usb1 usb1-part1 usb2
[admin@MikroTik] /disk> set usb1-part1 smb-
smb-address smb-encryption smb-password smb-share smb-sharing smb-user
[admin@MikroTik] /disk> set usb1-part1 smb-export=yes smb-user=user1 smb-password=test
expected end of command (line 1 column 16)
As you can see, there is no smb-export command.
Much Appreciate it. I'm going to play with this a bit more. I upgraded and downgraded the routerOS a few times yesterday, and some settings are gone. Please provide configuration as it would be very helpfull to find a problem. Without that we are lost in a fog
