basic ICMP rule

Wed Aug 17, 2022 5:47 am

Good evening,

I have problem that router rb4011ias having 2 lans, bridge and VoIP-Bridge at ip 192.168.100.1/24 and 192.168.0.1/24 and i have internet on both lan but
i can not ping my router but ping google etc on either lan with ip from respective bridge. i see that my router does not responde to ping from internet as well so secure but i think
ICMP/ping is vital to have a efficient network.

tried adding chain=input, protocol=icmp, accion=accept but lan ping still does not work, tried disable windows firewall but no succes not hits in firewall rule that i places as number 1.

basically what is the icmp rule that should make the router respond to icmp from any pc in any lan network ?

Thank you

It pings out of the box, so you’ve configured the capability away somehow. Post your sanitized configuration here and we can help you debug it.

I suspect your ISP provider is blocking ICMP on the WAN side but as stated, its all hot air, or letters until you post your config!

I don't see how you can blame the ISP when "lan ping still does not work," but success, I guess?

did a reset and programed again and you are probably right eventually but it works.

Thank you
