pppoe-out interface auto disconnect huge problem all traffic stop

Fri Apr 21, 2023 2:13 pm

Dear all,
I have a dial-up PPPoE client in Mikrotik. For some time it auto-disconnected from my ISP. I don't know the reason and the internet goes down. So I log in to Mikrotik through Winbox and manually disable the PPPoE-out interface and enable it then it will connect successfully.
I need a script or any other solution. Which always makes active my PPPoE- out interface connected.
Thanks

I already have a couple of ideas, but they are my ideas and my thoughts, if you want to know them, whether you're offended or not:
1) The problem is on the other side, and you're checking the wrong side.
2) You are not able to configure the device, I deduce that because for sure your pppoe clients are at 1480 instead of 1500 or at least 1492.

But they are my thoughts.

About the others, I can't speak for everyone, but surely if you don't provide any details, no one is a fortune teller.
The fact that, over the years, only you bring this issue to attention makes me think it only happens to you.

From an image you can't deduce the version, the hardware used, the configuration (but I guessed the MTU...) and how the devices are connected.

Off-topic:
Is there a reason so much traffic overhead for nothing?
Why do you have 26+ PPPoE connections to your usual ISP instead of just one?
Obviously not knowing how the rest is configured...

My ISP gave me a Panel for user creation. So for the monitoring of users' data, I dialed these connections first in my Mikrotik, and all my users connected with my "Mikrotik PPPoE server" Once they connected they are marked with relevant user IDs with their PPPoE Client. In this way, I can find how many users are using the Internet.

See the screenshot for further information.
Hope you understand

This is magic that most Mikrotik experts not known.
This is self-made engineering

This is not magic, I believe its a overcomplicated solution for a simple problem.

PPPoE session that disconnects and not automatically reconnect could be high CPU usage on your device(looking at all those routing marks). But you will have to post your entire config so we can see how its setup. That way we can provide you with an explanation and/or give suggestions how to improve the config
