no, wAP (like the illustration shows) has roughly a circular radiation pattern. Mount it how you want, signal goes all around it.

Yes, still waiting for dual band home ap with gigabit ethernet.

This announced home boxes brings nothing new compared with previous ones.

The new hAP lite case is pretty awesome!

I am also really happy that we finally have a product with 802.3af/at support (wAP) to use with capsman.

Nice work guys :)

I suspect as per the hAP range, we should expect additional wAP announcements in the future

It looks like the wAP can replace the cAP entirely? Dual chain instead of single, 802.3af/at instead of passive, and we can install outdoors. Are there any advantages to the cAP?

The new hAP looks interesting. I've been recommending the RB951G-2HnD which has 1000mW power output. What is the power output for the hAP?

How do these numbers relate to real-world scenarios? Makes it seem like the hAP is 500mW?

hAP:
Antenna gain DBI 1.5
MCS0 20 -93

RB951G-2HnD:
Antenna gain DBI 2.5
MCS0 30 -96

Looks wise, the cAP would look a little nicer on the ceiling.

Hi,

Nice products with some welcome features. BUT without the basics 5ghz / dual band / ac THAT our customers want above what's being offered. Its just more lower needed additions to a VERY bloated product range.

As an engineer i love Mikrotik but when a consultant or customer the latest product features just don't cut it. Sorry but its what the market needs not what mikrotik want to do.

Mikrotik need to significantly reduce product range (far to much duplication) saving significant costs and time that could be used far more effectively on a smaller more up to date range. Talk more to customers and deliver what's WANTED. As a previous post pointed out - No consumer 5ghz in 2015? Sorry but wtf? Unless of course you are willing to build it but then face other issues like poor cosmetics.

Again I do love the kit as an ENGINEER but who ever drives product development at MT needs to reboot. Just look at UBNTs new offerings.

Regards

Aidan - a very concerned fan

Info on wAP ?

Radio TX Power ?
Will there be a AC Gigabit version ?

Look I don't want to be a Debbie Downer , but the competition is starting to release MK2/V2 versions of their AC equipment in Q3.I see a lot of model overlap in the Mikrotik family.I think MTK might be better off focusing on narrower model lineups with more features personally.

Home 802.11ac models are coming soon. We already have a lot of ISP level 802.11ac products available.

Normis how about some rackmount poe switches. The 260gsp is only 4 ports and not rackmount. I have several places where I run a bunch of indoor access points and a 12 or 24 port poe switch would be awesome.
