Great job on the wAP AC . Me love it longtime.

Are there any plans maybe to build a high powered outdoor Dual Band AC access point with changeable antennas ? The wAP AC works great for smaller areas but I always have a need for wider area coverage on the outdoor side.I know you can probably frankenstein one with a 922 or a Netmetal 5AC and third party antennas but I like an all in one integrated solution.

Something similar to an Engenius EWS860AP/ENH1750EXT would be really nice.

Please clarify what is different from NetMetal. I thought it is exactly what you ask for

Essentially a NetMetal 5AC with the 2.4Ghz card installed/soldered on and comes with the all the antennas in the same box.

Makes it easier for me to keep spares and ordering as it's just a single SKU.
I'm sometimes not at the physical site but I can just hand over the box to non technical remote hands (read someone with little IT experience) and configure it remotely when plugged in.

NetMetal does have a model with 2GHz soldered on. You can install a second card with whatever frequency you need. And RP-SMA antennas are easy to find. Ebay has even 20dBI

Quick one on the wAP. We run 2.4GHz 912s with a 5GHz board, using the 5GHz for connecting to backhaul, and the 2.4 to give client access. The 2.4 and 5GHz segments are effectively bridged, creating a flat transparent network all the way back to a CCR running the hotspot service.

Would the wAP support such a configuration?

Yeah understood. It's less of a technical requirement but rather a ease of use / ease of ordering thing.
Any equipment we buy has to be quoted on by 3 different vendors and getting all 3 vendors to get all the details right is like herding cats sometimes  I've been using BaseBox 2's with R11e-5HnD though I'd like a more integrated solution.

Thank you, thank you for the quickMOUNT pro LHG, a quick recovery for a glaring shortcoming in the original LHG announcement. Now I can finally consider deploying some of these bad boys (if they ever get in stock over here).

The new wAP would be perfect if it has 2 Ethernet ports so one can configure a chain of accesspoints along any venue.
For example: ether2 is slave of ether1, bridge with ether1 and the two wireless interfaces and every device connected together in a chain in a (another example) sports arena, festival area and so on...

I second the WAP AC being a cool product; but I miss the second ethernet port with PoE passthrough;

Also the HAP AC should support 802.3af (or 802.3at) instead of passive PoE only

Given the hEX POE which is gigabit is due out soon, a Gigabit Powerbox will hopefully follow :)

considering horserpower, required for "wire speed" of 5 -ports 1Gbps device... dat would be complicated economically. despite preconfigured in switch config defaults. so far 1Gbps interfaces on "router"-labeled devices was remain pure marketing because processing power, required for, but as soon as you switch to switching - its quite doable(fasttrack and fastpatch imply too many compromises in too many aspects. but other may had different optiions on-topic, of coruse. and experience). moving "powerbox" to "switches" in price-list make sense thus

Is there a chance for CCR with 2 or 4-port SFP + and a few (6 or 8 ) SFP ports(not ethernet as in CCR1036-8G-2S +)?

The guides are nice, but where is a guide for 2GHz devices? There isn't many but enough (if take into account kit antennas for Groove and ACOMNIRPSMA for BaseBox 2) to draw a similar table IMHO.

Any chance for a CCR with at least 2x 10G ports and redundant PSU? Any router with no redundant PSU should not be considered as "industrial grade" :(
Actually there is only CCR1072 which is much overpowered for that.

Been waiting to try the wAP ac for a bit - resellers in the US all saying the device has not yet been approved?

When can we get one?

Stupid question. I Know you have this fancy new website now (which is soooo nice it has a ton less information than the last one).

Anyhow, last newsletter is MAY 2016. Now is end of october. Is there really nothing new in all those months? This is quite an unusual time from past experience, so don't mind me asking.

Just bought the wAP ac, and it's awesome, gonna put a few more in hopefully. Just wondering if there is any guide or suggestion to get the best performance and range. It would be nice.

Hi,

are there furthur plany for a new hap ac?
Im brand new, living It but not networking. My archer c7 are on lede/openwrt. But i guess sometimes i have some problem (streaming von my nas videos with 1080p/60 recorded with my Oneplus3). One wall, ~5m 5Ghz Wlan. iperf3 between 50 and 90mbit (nas cabled to wlan 5ghz). No ther user in 5Ghz.

Im realy unsure that i can handle this OS after i try the "demo", but i like to do this. Guess the "light" is a bit to small - my archer are working with 2.4Ghz als in the backyard (20m long). But im sure that i dont need the SFP slot. Yeah, and no shop nearby in germany or a user where i can have a test :-)

regards from frankfurt
