For site to site, IPsec is great. For Remote Access / Roadwarrior, I don't like the available VPNs. OpenVPN would be great, but the implementation is not so good in my opinion (no UDP, no cert only auth, everything done with PPP, not possible to push routes).

What do you want to do with the VPN?
Are both sides under your control?

Which is model of your router?
For example I tested RB951G with same aim - and only PPTP among secured VPNs allowed to forward IPTV SD/HD through VPN without lags, http. VPN server was CCR1009, VPN client - RB951G.
For CCR clients - any supported by RouterOS VPN (may be except AES CBC %) allows to do this (with one notice - not all VPNs allow multicast forwarding. If you need this of course).

Try l2tp. It's easy and will serve nicely.

Depends on your requirements. If you just need some straightforward tunneling that doens't cost you too much CPU (and/or when you use lower spec hardware), use PPTP. If you need security/confidentiality you may be looking at L2TP over IPsec, while if you need something that easily tunnels through firewall and NAT configurations as well, you may want to use OpenVPN or SSTP (as stated above: the OpenVPN implementation on Mikrotik is less than ideal).
