Hello,
we have L3 switched (not MT) network. I need expand LAN to another building with Mikrotik RB2011. General problem is vlan-s.
I read wiki and great presentation (recommended walked through) about switch chips on MT http://mum.mikrotik.com/presentations/I ... nowski.pdf
Is i understand correct, that there is at least two (or more) way to use vlan on RB?
one - where trunk/access ports define by switch port with 'vlan mode' and 'vlan header'
second - when trunk/access ports define by creating vlan interface behind "parent" physical and then correct bridge them
What is general differences between these two methods?
Which criteria is important to decide correct method? Is this depend from RB device (switch type), human habit or something different at all.
Hope someone can explain this for me in simple way
