USB Power Reset

Mon Aug 28, 2017 8:05 pm

I updated my RB951G to v6.40. After this update I cannot do a simple "USB Power Reset" (System->Routerboard->USB Power Reset), instead the whole Router is rebooting instead of the USB-Port.
Is this a new feature of v6.40?
This new behaviour is very annoying. Can I reset it to a normal "USB Power Reset" instead of Router-Reboot?

Check on System > Routerboard Current Firmware is 3.41, upgrade and reboot if isn't.

Hi Pukkita,
I updated to Firmware 3.41 but this did not solve the problem. Router is still rebooting after "USB Power reset".

Just tested (6.40.2) on a 951Ui model and doesn't reboot.

Does it happen with a different USB device? Does it happen with no USB device?

I would netinstall it to 6.40.2. If problem persists, generate a supout and email support linking to this post.

It does not reboot when no USB is attached.
With the ZTE MF823 the problem happens with v6.40.2.
With a ZTE MF190 there is no problem in v.6.40.2.

I did not try 6.40.1.
With v.6.41rc there is also a problem: the lte-stick registers to the mobile-phone-network. But I cannot connect to internet, not even to the lte-stick via the browser, it is "dead". USB-power-reset is no problem here, the router is not rebooting after USB-power reset.

Downgraded again to 6.39.2, ZTE MF823 is working again, also USB-power reset. (I need the power reset because quite often the MF823 "hangs up" on lte-network. So I have an automated usb-reset with netwatch.)

I would generate supouts while on troublesome setups and email support linking to this post, so that they're aware of this. (this is an user forum, while mikrotik staff reads the forum, is not the most efficient way to report bugs)
