VoIP/SIP problem with Siemens Gigaset

Fri Jan 12, 2018 3:47 pm

Hello,
My issue concerns 941-2nD and 951G-2HnD, and Simenes Gigaset VoIP phones C530IP, 470IP.
Started after one of packages/firmware upgrades months ago.

Symptoms:
1. all phone symptoms are not 100% of time - phones sometimes work "quite" fine, but sometimes not at all.
phone cannot register to voip operator, people cannot call me, I can call people with no problem, I can hear people always, people cannot hear me at all, or usually after some seconds, my voice returns after couple of seconds, and then is lost again after couple of seconds, and back again etc. "Couple of seconds" means sometime 6-8 sometimes 30.

2. in the same (exactly!) time soft clients like Zoiper works perfect. VoIP gateway (PAP2T) works perfect too. Both of course behind the some router in the same network

What I've done:
- turned on/off Firewall / Service Ports / sip
- turned on/off dst-nat for gigaset
- changed default sip ports on gigaset (and adjust pf for them)
- turned off other softclients/voip gateways in network
- checked and confirmed network stability and throughput during conversations
- mikrotiks upgraded, reconfigured from scratch (extreme simple config: wan, bridge for lan, masquerade, nothing special)
- changed voip operator (tested on three total)
- mikrotiks moved to different location, different inet providers

During phone call I can see on Torch both streams 60-80kbps, and when my voice is gone, one of the streams goes to zero.

What solves the problem in 100% and instantly?
Replacing Mikrotik with any other router (tried TP-Link, Huawei, and good old WRT54G).

Anyone have Gigaset working with Mikrotik properly?

Hi

I've 470IP behind a nat firewall, and it's working fine.
The only config in place is prioritysing its traffic on out/in bound interfaces. And that through connection & packet mangling. From my experience, the sip service detection is not working, as it never triggered. So i'm marking based on phone ip.

Normally a good phone (certainly a Siemens) will set the DSCP value in the voice packets to "Expedited Forwarding" (46) and you can match that or use "set priority from DSCP top 3 bits".

Correction: Just "Torch-ed" it, and it is INDEED setting 46 dscp flag.

Same issue with gigaset C455 IP and Mikrotik hap ax2. The VOIP phone cannot register. But at the same time soft VOIP clients on my PC work just fine. Any ideas?
Sebastia is there a chance that you could share your config script?
