Post payment expiry URL redirect

Thu Feb 07, 2019 5:06 pm

Hi

I have setup user manager (6.43.8) with connection to paypal. The user registers though the /user/signup/publcID. This payment goes through Paypal correctly and the user logs successfully into the hotspot with these credentials. The user has internet access until the session has set validity has expired.

However once the session has expired the user is forced to the hotspot login page again rather than the /user/ page where they can 'topup' their credits. The user cannot logon to the hotspot it states that no profile is found. If type the /user/ URL into the browser they can login and upgrade the credits. This is not an easy thing for the user to do. Is there anyway that the User page is displayed when the credits expire? I cannot seem to find the process of expiry described anywhere.

On another issue have others had problems with differing devices (Windows, Android and IOS) to the signup and external https:// URL links put on the hotspot page? I have added the URLs and ip address to the Walled Garden but get security messages or 404 page not found.

Happy to post configs if this would help.

Thanks

Mark

Do I need to have a https:// URL for the return from Paypal?

If I enable https in the hotspot server profile I get an error on an android phone when trying to get from the signup form to https://www.paypal.com/webappss/xoo.... The error states "The network that you're trying to join has security issues" or that the site is insecure. I click the only option continue anyway via a browser and this takes me back to the hotspot login page. DNS is set to 8.8.8.8

The signup to paypal works without any issues on a Windows laptop and iphone but not android.

The Mikrotik official instructions (although dated) seem to indicate that we must use https. I have added a wildcard certificate to https 443 that includes the campsite dns name.

I post questions on this forum and nobody (other than myself) comes back to me. I am a MTCNA but this is the first time i have setup a paypal payment system and need some guidance please. I am happy to post some of the config if you let me know what you need.

Thanks

Mark
