Mikrotik RB4011iGS+5HacQ2HnD 10G SFP+ port flapping

Fri Apr 12, 2019 11:45 am

I am using S+AO0005 active DAC and connected to Mellanox MCX-312A-XCBT.

When i logined in to WIN10, the 10G port is keeping up and down. I need manually disable and enable the 10G few times, then the port will come up.
Also i tired to connect this active DAC SFP+ from Mellanox 10G card Port1 to Port2, it is no any flapping.

ether11-sfpplus link up (speed 10G, full duplex)
ether11-sfpplus link down
ether11-sfpplus link up (speed 10G, full duplex)
ether11-sfpplus link down
ether11-sfpplus link up (speed 10G, full duplex)
ether11-sfpplus link down

Version is v6.44.2 and already hard code 10G Full duplex.

Is anyone else seeing port flapping on SFP+ port? Thanks.

S+AO0005 is supported, please generate supout.rif while device is malfunctioning and send to support with problem description.

Hello,

I am experiencing similar problem with 10G SFPs (Cisco, HP, Mellanox) and fiber.
Was there any solution to this one?

Thx!

New release of RouterOS has some fixes related to SFP+ port:
6.45.1
*) rb4011 - fixed MAC address duplication between sfp-sfpplus1 and wlan1 interfaces (wlan1 configuration reset required);
*) sfp - fixed S-35LC20D transceiver DDMI readouts after reboot;
*) tile - improved link fault detection on SFP+ ports;

I am not sure which one fixed the flap problem but my connection on 10G is stable now, no magic needed to stop flapping.
(There were no other changes to the network.)
