Broadcast storm prevention

Fri Jun 28, 2019 2:58 pm

Has anyone got suggestions or recommendations on best practice to reduce or prevent broadcast storm on a L2 bridged network, each Vlan has it's interfaces connected to a separate bridge ?

If you have loops, enable xSTP
(1) How can I test if I have loops?
(2) is xSTP RSTP, MSTP....If so I don't have STP between routers ?

1) based on your network knowledge. Or map it with Dude.
2) one of these needs to be enabled on all bridges / switches participating in loops. STP is L2 protocol, below routing.
