How to move firewall rules up and down

Sat Mar 07, 2020 6:24 pm

Hi everyone,
I'm sorry if my question may sound stupid.
I saw in this videotutorial that the author can move his mikrotik firewall rules up and down in the list:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=78jhP62VvwI

I tried to do the same by left clicking on a rule and holding then moving it up or down, but nothing happened. They seem to be block at their original place
What did I get wrong?
Thanks

Yes, you can drag rules, it works. Except maybe when you use WinBox on Mac, I don't do it myself, but I think I've noticed some complaints about that somewhere in this forum.

Thats strange, thats how I do it on my router.
Create new rule drag it to where I want it..........

What browser are you using.....

Also notable is that there is no other way I can see to move rules around?
Just make sure that you have left clicked the NUMBER SYMBOL at the top far left of the firewall page, to ensure that numbering is the determining list factor (and not any of the other columns).
In other words, 0 rule is the top and its sequential down the page.
Then try............

One hint: do not move firewall rules on terminal, if you do not understand exactly what you do.... or you risk to be cutoff from the router...

The same is valid on winbox, use SAFE MODE......

It is possible to drag rules on Mac when using Winbox over wine. You can even drag multiple/grouped rules at once.

Thanks. It was very useful anyway, but I decided to remove deny all rule and then to add it at the end. It's more simple for me.
