RBM33G with two WifiCards

Wed Mar 11, 2020 4:55 pm

Hi Guys,

iam asked my Mikrotik Dealer for RBM33G using it with 2 miniPCIe Wificards at the same Time.

I got as answer, the RBM33G doesn't support this Setup, two wifi Cards at the same Time.

Well so i check MT alternatives, but didn't find smth. useful for my Setup, but the RBM33G would be perfect.
I Would use it with two R11e-2HPnD, and i don't need the USB Port. I checked the Block Diagramm and the other Papers of MT but i didn't find any problems?

Who knows more?

Thanks, and kind Regards!

Hello,
which cards are you using ?
I've tried a R11e-2HPnD and R11e-5HacT.
But together they won't work. After a couple of days the board freeze.
Ony with one of the cards it works well (RBM33G with 128GB M.2 and USB LTE Modem)

You can try to remove the jumper next to USB 3.0 port.

I also want to setup a RBM33G with a R11e-2HPnD and R11e-5HacT.

I know that the thread is somewhat old - does anyone have new experiences?

Thank you.

Using two PCIe cards or USB based (LTE modems) are supported, but there are some limitations.
To use two LTE modems - USB lines has to be switched by removing jumper near USB port.
If two pcie (wireless) cards needs to be used - there are some limitations to bus speeds that may cause performance issues at high speeds. That is the reason why use of two PCIe (wireless) cards simultaneously is not recommended. If both cards are two chain or less, or are not under 100% load all the time - they should work.

So, you can successfully use 3x3 2,4GHz card with this board with WLE900VX card?
Is there any special tips to make it works, as this card isnt on MT compatybility list?

Best!
