Wed Apr 08, 2020 4:15 pm

RouterOS version 6.46.5 has been released in public "stable" channel!

*) winbox - added support for "Tools->WoL" menu;
I can't choose the "bridge" interface for WoL.
I have scripts like:
/tool wol XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX interface=bridge-LAN
and it works perfectly.
WoL menu is not so useful if it does not appear in the menu obtained with the right key, for example, in DHCP Leases menu page.

winbox - added support for "Tools->WoL" menu;
WoL doesn't work via winbox and Webfig, but it works via command line only.
When you press "Wake on LAN" button, the window just closes.

Upgraded my CloudCore, CCR10009-7g-1c-1s+ and it has been everything but stable. Keep loosing WAN and Lan interface connection, so does not matter if I'm inside lan or outside, still lost connection. After a few min, or seconds in best case, it comes online again. Pingdom reported it as network error. 12h later i reverted to previous version and now things are stable again.

Don't know if it's required but did you upgrade RouterBOOT, too?

Re: v6.46.5 [stable] is released!

Not sure when it happened, but trying to do a PING from tools within the routerboard, or traceroute which uses PING to ANY host, I get 100 % loss, but the DNS lookup is works... the rule I traced this too was the one below:
chain=input action=drop protocol=icmp dst-address=xx.xx.xx.xx in-interface=EoIP-WAN log=no log-prefix=""
Disabling this would allow the pings to work.

So my question is, why in the past with this rule, did the ping and tracerts work, and then after this upgrade the ping response from the other hosts gets dropped by this rule? After all the rule is set for INPUT chain.

Or did I not see this function for a decade like it did before, and all of the sudden changed?
Note this is the first rule I have to drop ICMP on the wan interface.
If I add the Connection state NEW to this rule, it will allow ROS ping and tracerts to have responses from the hosts, but Inbound ping on WAN is dropped. This behavior was not like this before.

Upgraded one of my rb4011 6.46.4 to 6.46.5 using winbox 3.22 on my win10 - even though misaligned and missing text is a minor issue it still triggers my ocd.

U-NII-2

RouterOS does not have a random function. Many has tried to make script to make random text, but all seems to be flawed.

BobcatGuy, the effect of the firewall rules depends on their position in their respective chains. So if there was an "accept established, related" rule before the one which has upset you, and you have (possibly accidentally) removed or disabled it, or simply moved it past the "drop icmp" one, it might explain why now the "drop icmp" rule acts also on outgoing ICMP traffic. Feel free to create a new topic and post your complete /ip firewall export there, and edit your previous post with a link to that new topic.
Instead of writing novels, post /export hide-sensitive. Use find&replace in your favourite text editor to systematically replace all occurrences of each public IP address potentially identifying you by a distinctive pattern such as my.public.ip.1.

I believe the fix is to drag open the window more to the right and its fixed!!! I just noticed that now. I did the upgrade of the packages but forgot to do the routerboard. Thanks for reminding me

In my country, in Ukraine, the U-NII-3 range is allowed, but there is no U-NII-3 range in the frequency list
But frequencies appear if you choose, for example, USA Country

It seems to be marked for outdoor use only here. Please change installation parameter to outdoor or any and see if those frequencies reappear.

Yes I did update RouterBoot, and that's stable.
Now more than 24h has past after I reverted and router is as stable as it was before the upgrade, so be careful with this version.

[*]Unable to see skip DFS. Looked in wireless but where is it hiding?
[*]When I attempt to access quick set, I see one of my wireless parameters is showing blue and then I get kicked out and have to reconnect. Once reconnected, the wireless parameter is fine. Its usually the frequency parameter that is incorrect
[*]At least on 5.8, when I try to do a scan or freq usage, it will stop and kick me out and I have to log back in. I also see all the users get knocked off the 5.8 and have to reconnect

It is available in command line only, no support in WinBox nor WebFig yet. And next time you post something, would mind reading the whole thread to check if you question has already been answered, please?

I assume 5.8 is the frequency... Anyways, what you describe is the expected behavior. Scan command disables the normal operations on the interface while running. It is documented here.

I need to expand on my last bullet. If I am on 2.4 or ethernet and I do a 5.8 scan...the router is going to kick me out? Never had that issue before. Its almost as if the whole router just kicks everyone out. I do agree that if I was on 5.8 and tried to do a scan on 5.8, that would make perfect sense.

The concern with skip DFS...I read the line comments above. Sorry I missed that small detail. I know that cloud backup is not yet in winbox, but now I know the same holds true for DFS skip

Just set mine to all and it comes up much faster than using the 10min-cac that was I believe the default before. Gonna wait and see how this plays out and if my devices have less complaining. I know that some devices like ROKU do not play well on the DFS channels (if at all)

mAP connected to a CISCO SG350 with Auto Negotiation which worked without a problem using v6.46.4 now negotiates to 10M FD! Deactivating AN and setting 100M FD solves the problem. Even taking 1000M out of the options list for AN does not work.

Edit: After a few mAP reboots now the device gets whats advertised during AN by the other side. Let's see if it keeps stable.

Re: v6.46.5 [stable] is released!

6.46.5 (stable) has resolved several issues I experienced in my setup of R493G (as CAPsMAN) and RBwAPG-5HacT2HnD (as CAP).

I was not able to have same version of firmware running on both CAPsMAN and CAP over the last several issued ones, namely 6.45.8 (long term), 6.46.3/4 as well as Beta 6.47.48/49/54. On some versions, I could not connect to my FreeNAS box which is hooked up at the other side of the bonding between RB493G and my Netgear switch.

I no longer have the above issues with 6.46.5. So thank you, MikroTik.

Keep safe during this trying time.

I have upgraded 2 x RB2011, 3 x hAP AC2, 4 hEX S, 1 x CRS326, 1 x CRS312, 2 x RB951Ui-2HnD, 1 x hAP lite to this new version without any detected issues. Most of these devices are using L2TP/IPSec VPNs, some OVPN, some IPv6 without any issues.

Thanks!

updating to 6.46.5 went smooth ... from 6.46.3 to 6.46.5 done thru the dude ;-)
No problems so far

Still running OSX 10.14.x to be able to run the 32bit Dude in Dude4Mac 6.46.5 (which I created manually with some hints from Joshaven, thanks !)

system auto upgrade works as designed. no problems. all firmware on latest version.

Hello all! After update to 6.46.5, i can't connect to router with Winbox. Getting this same error on hap ac2 and audience:

Image

with Winbox 3.22 x64.

Strange... other routers with 6.46.4 on board works (connecting) normal.

UPD: Clear cache did the trick. Now all is ok!

System->auto-upgrade, still problem, from ftp source !!
ehhhh....

I'm very unhappy with MikroTik's recent release performance. They are releasing new features while at the same time breaking old features, then never fixing the old features. System auto-upgrade hasn't worked for months, the Dude is now broken across releases, OSPF has developed problems, and for nearly a month Winbox was entirely unusable with chopped-off text and tiny type (it still requires you to "zoom" three times on every connection before you can get useful work done). My network is stuck at 6.45 and I don't dare upgrade until these other problems are fixed, yet I don't see any urgency expressed by MikroTik to fix them. It's almost as if MikroTik is so desperate to attract new customers that they are abandoning the customers they already have. MikroTik needs to stop this headlong rush into new features and spend some quality time repairing the regressions they have introduced.

Since this Update, my LTE6 downlaodspeer dropped to avg 35MBit.
i wonderes, why my performance graph stays below 40 MBit since several days.

I reverted (without any change, but with firmware!) fo 6.45.8 and my speed increased directly to 70MBit.
6.46.4 was fast aswell.

Edit: To add, i did not get once in the last 2 days 70 Mbit using 6.46.5. Ido a normal speedtest every 30 minutes.
After the downgrade, i immediately got 70MBit. Since then, it stays between 60 and 72 Mbit.
Upload did not change and stays at about 30MBit.
LTE6-Firmware is V025, so the current one.

The RB3011 USB port has been stopped working after fw upgrade. The solution was downgrade the firmware to longterm and upgrade only the packages but no firmware.

Re: v6.46.5 [stable] is released!

Unfortunately my IPSEC started weird behavior after I updated to 6.46.5

The situation is I have L2tp/ipsec enabled for remote access from mobile phone/tablet etc. This worked before and works now too.

Then I am having many GRE tunnels with IPsec where there is not IPSec field used in Interface settings - rather than this I am using manual Peers, Identities, Policies under IP-IPsec. I have nothing against using IPsec field directly in GRE tunnel interface settings but I dont want to because then I cannot set my side to be responder only without Send_Initial (my side is only side with public IP so Send_Initial does not make sense on my side).

With all above, there is Peer, Identity and Policy for each Gre Tunnel under IP-Ipsec, each having src and dst addresses set properly and there is also default 0.0.0.0/0 for L2TP/IPsec as I never know what will be my address while connecting remotely.

So far all tunnels and L2tp/Ipsec worked smoothly. After upgrade to 6.46.5 my GRE tunnel Policies become Invalid (red) and all newly created Policies are automatically flag invalid no matter what I set for them.
When I manually tried to set IPsec under Gre interface, then dynamic Peer, Identity, Policy are created and tunnel goes up - the policy looks exact same as when created manually and flagged invalid.

When using Manual IPsec entries I used long time before I can also see from Log all remote hosts are trying to connect to me, but unfortunately my router put them all under default L2tp/ipsec policy and of course Log says wrong password. And when I disable L2tp/ipsec for a while and leave only manual entries under IPsec, nothing in log - looks to me like manual entries in IPsec are completely ignored and only dynamically created entries can be used.

Am I missing something? I did no changes before upgrade so I wonder why the config not working now although smoothly worked for many years before. And literally all Policies immediatelly red/invalid after created no matter what I set inside the policy.

For now, unfortunately I will have to downgrade I think.

mooze, from what version have you upgraded to 6.46.5? The local peer is chosen based on address and exchange-mode, so if two peers have these parameters identical, the first one always shadows the other ones. Somewhere in 6.45 the ids and secrets used to identify the remote peer have migrated to /ip ipsec identity, so maybe your configuration has been converted incorrectly from the previous version. I'd recommend to create a dedicated topic, post the configuration export before the eventual downgrade there (don't forget hide-sensitive, see my automatic signature for a hint) and edit your previous post with a link to it the new topic.
Instead of writing novels, post /export hide-sensitive. Use find&replace in your favourite text editor to systematically replace all occurrences of each public IP address potentially identifying you by a distinctive pattern such as my.public.ip.1.

Mon Apr 13, 2020 12:06 am

sindy, thank you for your reply. If I am not mistaken, I upgraded from 6.46.1. The same config previously working is not working now unfortunately.

My config is quite simple, let me shortly demonstrate. Lets assume my IP is 9.9.9.9 and GRE tunnels far sides are 1.1.1.1 and 2.2.2.2

None of far sides has direct public IP (all behind nat without port forwarding). Therefore my 750gr3 is responder for all tunnels while far ends are in Send_Initial role.

As long as IPSec field under GRE Tunnel will cause simple dynamic ipsec entries for Peer, Identity and Proposal without letting me define anything, I have IPSec field off for GRE Tunnels and my own entries under IPSec.

Peers defined as 1.1.1.1 address and 9.9.9.9 local address (2.2.2.2 + 9.9.9.9) etc., profile default, exchange mode main and only Passive checkbox ticked as explained with public IP.
All entries black, no problem, all with flags enabled and responder as I want.

Identities - 1 identity for each peer, method preshared key, policy template default, my ID auto, remote ID auto, match by remote id, generate policy port strict.
All entries black, all enabled.

Proposals - here comes a trouble. All turned red after upgrade and even I tried to remove them and readd manually, I am not able to get any other flag for them than invalid flag - no matter what I set, no matter what and how I change. Plus I have only option to add or delete as many times when I try to edit I get message that entries are updated automatically in transport mode. I didnt see such message before. Nevermind, still getting red/invalid immediatelly once added.

Appropriate settings on far ends where on some routers older RouterOS and on 2 of them already newest 6.46.5.
The problem is I think on my side, because I can see far ends are trying to connect, I can see phase1 correct and then I can see parsing packet failed - wrong password. This is because during the ph1 and ph2 I can see under Active Peers entries for far ends but they are falling under l2tp policy what is wrong and of course different password for l2tp/ipsec connections.

So the router is completely ignoring my manual entries and because Proposals are invalid, all far ends attemps fall into default proposal being created for l2tp/ipsec connections.

Looks like the Proposals menu is stuck somehow and therefore I cannot add new entries while old entries became invalid after router upgrade.

Do you think the way could be to export config and push into router after reset configuration? I want to stay with newest ROS, but this doesnt make sense to me why router is refusing my ipsec entries while dynamically created entries are ok and router respects them.

mooze, since you have upgraded from such a recent version, I'd say create a supout.rif file and open a ticket at support@mikrotik.com. It wasn't this clear before you've stated the version you were using previously.

sindy thank you for quick reply. I am more than 100% sure my previous ROS was installed into box not later than 4 months ago. From Changelog it must have been mentioned 6.46.1 as I can remember the "1" at then end and I wasnt sure if 45.1 or 46.1 - and as 45.1 is from July 2019 I was for sure with 46.1 because I did large upgrade around Christmas and 46.1. is from December.
I will try supout.rif as you recommended and I will have to downgrade a bit - maybe back to 46.1 where all was working perfectly.

Hi Everyone,

I had an issue with upgrading CRS326-24G-2S+ from 6.45.7 to the current stable version (6.46.5). Right after the RouterOS upgrade I have also upgraded the firmware and reboot the CRS. After I issued the /export file=filename command, the terminal window in Winbox reported that console had crashed and CPU utilization raised to 100%. The UI became unresponsive. I could not connect to the unit anymore.

To fix this I had to turn the power off and on again... Be careful if you do the upgrade remotely.

All other devices I have were successfully upgraded from 6.45.7 to 6.46.5: hAP lite, mAP, hEX, hAP ac, hAP ac2

I have a new RB4011iGS+5HacQ2HnD which has given me about 4 days, 17 hours of rock solid performance and uptime, then this morning, I had it generate an autosupout.rif file but did not reboot.

I have no clear indication as to what triggered it (nothing in the logs), however there were DNAT rules which failed to work until I rebooted it myself. I am using quite a few features, including:
* L2TP (no IPSEC for most of them)
* BGP with BFD
* VRRP

Nothing appears to have flapped for the above. Most of this configuration was migrated from a CRS 125 switch and I have not seen this behaviour before. I have opened SUP-13816 with supout.rif.

Hello, I have updated my 2 home devices from 6.45.1 - Hex S and cAP ac.
There is no problem with Hex S, but cAP ac has rebooted several times since then: Router was rebooted without proper shutdown by watchdog timer.

According to dude, these reboots occurred seemingly at random intervals (20, 6, 7.5,1, 12 hours).
I can't see no connection to reboots in dude history graphs (RAM, disk, power consumption), everything seems normal, only uptime gets down to zero.

It serves only as an access point with capsman, nothing else is configured

I don't see any supout generated (the option is enabled in watchdog config).

Grant, no matter whether the address-list is dynamic or static, it does occupy RAM. So the total number of address-list items is what matters, not their type (static/dynamic). Your graph shows that the memory doesn't actually leak as its consumption reaches some level and doesn't grow any further. DNS cache, tracked connections, routing tables (BGP, OSPF etc.) are other dynamically created data which occupy RAM.
Instead of writing novels, post /export hide-sensitive. Use find&replace in your favourite text editor to systematically replace all occurrences of each public IP address potentially identifying you by a distinctive pattern such as my.public.ip.1.

I put a RB4011iGS+5HacQ2HnD on a customer a few days ago.It came from the factory with version 6.44.3
I updated to the Long Term version (6.45.8 ) and randomly, the 5GHz WiFi disappeared. The only solution was to restart the router to get it working again. Finally, I upgraded to the stable version (6.46.5). From then on, in addition to continuing the problem of 5GHz WiFi, the router rebooted randomly. I didn't know what was going to happen first, if the WiFi failed or a reboot. When rebooted, the log displayed the warning "The router was rebooted without propper shutdown".

Finally, on the recommendation of a friend, I downgraded to version 6.46.4. Right now it takes 23 hours without any problem, neither of WiFi nor of reboots ...

As I said before: 6.44.6 - not stable on devices with 10+ peers (but other things are stable: ipsec, etc).
6.45.8 - not stable,
6.46.5 - not stable

We are using 6.44.6 on core devices and 6.45.8 on non-critical and in lab...

And for now we do not see the light in the end of tunnel...

On my CCR the snmpd is crashing every other day, every time a reboot is required to fix it.
This happens since 6.46.1 or .2, MT Support is trying to isolate the exact problem.

For the last 5 days I have been struggling with a IPSec problem while using ROS 6.47rc60. It didn't make any sense as if I was chasing a flying bug. One time parts of it would work (IPSec), then a minute later it wouldn't also, difficulties trying to L2TP into my router using IPSec. Mind you my IPSec links had at one time been very stable as well as .

It just basically sat there.. After some time, pondering what to do, I started searching the forum thinking I can't be the only one having these issues.

Then, after I read your post about ROS 6.44.6 working...I tried it..and behold, everything came back up albeit a few things needed to be redone in the policy section but not much and was easy to reconfigure. Now all my L2TP clients connect correctly and all seems to be right with the world. I do miss DoH DNS features in the ROS 6.47xx releases but for stability, I can live without it.

Thanks for the tip.. I'm gonna sleep better tonight !! :) :) :)
