Stuck in ipxe with EVE-NG

Mon Jun 29, 2020 1:29 pm

Hello,

I am new to using EVE-NG (Community Edition), but it seems rather powerful. I'd like to try the free level (1Mbps) of the CHR on it for labbing purposes. Following this guide, I downloaded the CHR:

https://www.eve-ng.net/index.php/docume ... ud-router/

When I add a node and try to start it, I'm presented with an IPXE interface that says this:
Booting from ROM...
iPXE (PCI 00:04.0) starting execution...ok
iPXE initialising devices...ok

iPXE 1.0.0+ (0600d) -- Open Source Network Boot Firmware -- http://ipxe.org
Features: DNS HTTP iSCSI TFTP AoE ELF MBOOT PXE bzImage Menu PXEXT

net1: 50:00:00:04:00:01 using 82540em on 0000:00:04.0 (open)
  [Link:up, TX:0 TXE:0 RX:0 RXE:0]
Configuring (net1 50:00:00:04:00:01)................. No configuration methods s
ucceeded (http://ipxe.org/040ee119)
No more network devices

Booting from ROM...
iPXE (PCI 00:05.0) starting execution...ok
iPXE initialising devices...ok
It just goes through the PXE process for each of the 4 ethernet devices that it's configured with, before giving up and saying:
No more network devices

Booting from Floppy...
Boot failed: could not read the boot disk

No bootable device.
Does anyone have experience using CHR with EVE-NG? Or have you run into this issue on other virtualization platforms? Thanks!

This happens when you use Router Os ...*.npk file.

Download the Cloud Hosted Router (CHR) image from https://mikrotik.com/download (See attached Screenshot)

Follow the same procedure as stated in the Ene-ng documentation (how to guide)
https://www.eve-ng.net/index.php/docume ... ud-router/

You can watch the illustration by The Network Berg here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kmJVScuCzIM

Enjoy.
