Creating a slow but reliable WLAN link

Mon Sep 20, 2021 6:36 pm

Hi!

I have one mAP lite configured as AP and one hAP ac2 configured as station bridge. The WLAN connection is terrible and my signal strength is -90dB. If I understand correctly, there are different speed modes (MCS?) and MCS0 would be fine to work with. I don't need much bandwidth, but just a stable link.

So basically I want to make the AP stay at 1 MBit, because as long as this is the case, the ping is reliable. Unfortunately it often wants to set itself to higher speeds but as soon as it tries that, the link is lost of course.

How can I tell the AP to stay at lowest speed?

I already tried disabling all MCS modes but 0, but the status still shows something like 6 MBps for a fraction of a second.
