Audience and 12V power

Thu Sep 23, 2021 10:17 pm

Hi All,

I've bought Audience recently. And to my surprise I realised that it didn't run from 12V power source. Although it's said to be "DC jack input Voltage - 12-57 V". Actually, this is the first of my many Mikrotiks that doesn't want to run from 12V. Am I alone here? Tried to search but didn't find anything. (anticipating any further comments - yes, this is true and accurate 12,1V from a regulated low-ripple DC UPS)

Also, a question on PoE. Product page says it's "PoE in - Passive PoE". However, user manual says it's "Power over Ethernet 802.3af/at 24-57 V DC". I.e. 802.af/at is not the same as "Passive PoE". So, where's the truth here?

Hello,
About the 12V DC powering - this could be something specific to your device or PSU you are using, please send us the serial number and PSU description to support@mikrotik.com (add also this thread link).
Correct and fully supported poe-in specification: Passive PoE 24-57V, user manual will be updated.

Hello, same here

my audience don't start up with 12v power input.
With 24V, on the other hand, it runs without any problems.
You need about 16V to start up this device(tested it with adjustable power supply).
The input jack is labeled with
12-57V
, that is wrong :D
